They are trying to give me Lansoprazole, but I am refusing to take it as it does absolutely nothing. I go to bed hungry, and wake up with acid in my mouth.
@[email protected] I have tried apple cider vinegar, I think it’s an excellent overall tonic, and helps stomach upset too, but just not as effective as the Betaine Hcl pills. Hypothyroidism can also cause weight gain in the form of edema. I once watched a television show where they were, well, to be honest making a freak show out of obese people.
But for a while now I have nausea, bloating, stomach pain, and lately horrible vomiting,it feels like nothing is moving or digesting,it is food that I ate days ago sometimes.it’s awful, and the acid reflux too, horrible headache also.I am literally can’t keep anything down! I am at my wits end.I don’t know what to do.so should I try to go the low acid way.I’m just so sick right now, I can’t think straight.Help me Please!! Thank You!!
@Anita – Sure so to clarify. If you have do not have low stomach acid meaning you have good acid or high acid levels (not likely) when you supplement with Betaine HCL you should get a deep like middle of abdomen area hotness, burning or heaviness. This also happens when you have low acid and are trying to find the perfect dosage.
List of Foods You Can’t Eat With GERD
I am 98 pounds. I feel like the supplements I take are not going to help me because I’m probably not absorbing them due to poor guy health. I need calcium and vitamin D because my levels are low. I’m sure I can attribute this to taking the Prilosec for so long.
Never realized that low stomach acid was one of the culprits, but after testing myself and finding my dosage at four 650mg capsules, I’m feeling much much better after meals. When I tried the baking soda test-I belched about 10 minutes later and then began sneezing many many times. This is some type of allergic reaction, but does it mean I have low stomach acid. I’m going to see a functional medicine doctor that specializes in gastro problems.

I was treated to a homemade chocolate experience that included a flight of chocolate, sipping chocolate and truffles that woke me up with a massive acid reflux attach and left me burping for 2 months. Thank you for doing more than my doctor to find my problem.
I have a question is this is under the case of low stomach acidity. I present with constant bloating, gas, and occasional constipation. I’ve been taking enzymes for the past 2 years and it has helped a lot, but now they seem to be working only minimally. I rarely get heartburn, but I do get the feeling of food still being in my stomach all the time after I eat. I have a couple nights of regurgitation of food even hours after my meal.
I’ll never know if I had low acid when I went into to my Doctor, but either way, I got worse on acid blockers and needed another solution. After reading this article and a week of apple cider vinegar and digestive enzymes, I have gone from a burp time of more than 6 min to less than 4. I am so happy to be on the road to healing.
Think You Have Low Stomach Acid? Here’s What to To
It may take 1 day or 2 wks but continue untill condition is corrected and it will be corrected. You might also try not drinking any liquids 45 min before meal, none during meals and none for 45 min after meals.
The most common signs of low stomach acid are heartburn, maldigested food, Vitamin B and iron deficiency, and constipation and/ or diarrhea. Low stomach acid doesn’t necessarily mean the food isn’t being passed on down the digestive tract or that it isn’t being digested at all….just not efficiently and the nutrients are likely not being absorbed. If you’re having symptoms such as acid reflux, heartburn, burping, gas, bloating, or nausea after eating, then it’s very likely that you have a stomach acid issue.
