After 3 days the bloating after meals was much better. The reflux and breathing is much better also. Not perfect yet and I get a little reflux in the throat still but I’m on my way to getting better and I already feel ten times better. The sluggishness is gone also. Eating better has made a big difference also.
If the lower esophageal sphincter relaxes abnormally or weakens, stomach acid can flow back up into your esophagus (acid reflux) and cause heartburn. The acid backup may be worse when you’re bent over or lying down. Antacids, like calcium carbonate (Tums), sodium bicarbonate, Maalox and Milk of Magnesia, relieve indigestion and heartburn by neutralising the acid in your stomach.
I’ve experienced some of the aforementioned issues. Any thoughts would be welcomed.
He gave me enzymes and said to keep taking the HCL, which I have been doing after every meal as required. I think the meat eating world are trying to fit answers around their chosen lifestyle.
During the third consultation 2 weeks later, her gastritis pain, wheezing, and burping had decreased, but the lower abdominal pain continued. Her fiber and food intake were both inadequate, so additional strategies for an IBS-C appropriate fiber to reduce constipation were discussed. Start your experimentation slowly. It’s counterintuitive, but you might need to increase your stomach acid.
I have developed this condition over the past week… Burping after eating, bringing up liquid into my esophagus with a burning feeling whether I’m standing, sitting or laying. I also have a Bloated stomache like food or drink is swimming around in it, I can not go to the toilet for a couple of days then when I do I have Diahrea for a couple of hours which is Yellowish in colour. When I eat I feel heavy and like my stomach is protruding, my burps taste like food I ate several hours ago, and have had diarrhea. I stopped eating breads & pasta and it helped but I’m experiencing the same issues again.
Heartburn, aka acid reflux symptoms vary in severity and from person to person, big time. You may have even had acid reflux before and didn’t realize it. Heartburn occurs when stomach acid backs up into the tube that carries food from your mouth to your stomach (esophagus). Many Americans suffer from acid reflux and frequently use acid suppressing medications to manage their symptoms.
What can you do to improve your health if you’re living with dementia?
Unfortunately our ability to properly digest food and absorb vital nutrients declines with advancing age. Surprisingly, one of the most common age-related causes of impaired digestive function is the reduction of hydrochloric acid produced by the stomach. However, if heartburn symptoms occur frequently and persistently, they can be an indicator of a more serious problem, such as gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD. Left untreated, GERD can cause a host of complications, including cancer. Hello, do you know of a doctor in Maryland they will test for low stomach acid.

This occurs when stomach contents, including acid and enzymes, back up into the esophagus and injure the tissues of the larynx (voice box) and pharynx (throat). The cause is malfunctioning of the upper and lower esophageal sphincter muscles. These muscles are supposed to keep food moving in the right direction, from mouth to stomach. The lower esophageal sphincter prevents stomach acid from moving up the esophagus.
Use gravity as an advantage. Avoid lying down for three hours after a meal. If a person suffers from nighttime heartburn, elevate the head of the bed when sleeping. Place 6-inch blocks underneath the head of the bed, or place a wedge under the mattress.
